The history of tarot stretches back to 15th-century Europe, where the cards began as a playing card game before evolving into one of the most widely used tools for self-reflection and spiritual guidance. Every deck follows the same structure, so no matter which one calls to you, you're working within a familiar system. All 78 cards are divided into the 22 Major Arcana — the bigger themes and turning points in life — and the 56 Minor Arcana, organized into four elemental suits: Pentacles (Earth), Swords (Air), Wands (Fire), and Cups (Water).

Reading tarot is part intuition, part learning. The more time you spend with the cards, the more their symbolism begins to speak your language.
