Palo Santo "holy wood" has been used for centuries by Indigenous communities throughout the Andes, particularly in Peru and Ecuador. Curanderos, the traditional healers of these communities, burn it during ceremony to clear stagnant energy, invite spiritual clarity, and create space for healing. It is not a trend. It is a living tradition, and we carry it with that in mind.
These sticks are sustainably harvested in Peru from naturally fallen trees - Palo Santo is never cut while living. The tree continues to release its resin and sacred properties for years after falling, which is when it is gathered. We source from suppliers committed to honoring both the plant and the communities whose relationship with it stretches back long before it became a wellness staple.
If you are new to working with Palo Santo, know that you are stepping into something with roots. You don't need to practice any specific tradition to use it -curiosity and intention are enough. But knowing where it comes from and why it matters is part of using it well.
How to use it
Crack a window to give the smoke somewhere to go. Light one end and allow it to catch for about 30 seconds, then gently blow it out. Carry it through your space, your home, your desk, anywhere that feels heavy or stuck and let the warm, woodsy smoke do its work. Set an intention as you move. Even something simple: I am clearing what no longer serves me. Only peace is welcome here.
The stick will go out on its own. Let it rest in a fireproof dish. One stick can be relit many times.
